JD Robinson
Owner/Director
JD Robinson is a native of Mineral Wells, TX and graduated in 2003 from Mineral Wells High School. Robinson continued his playing career at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. While at Tarleton State, he was a part of two Lonestar Conference Championships, two Regional Championships, two Elite Eights and one Final Four.
After playing, Robinson joined the staff as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations at Tarleton State University for two seasons under Hall of Fame head coach Lonn Reisman. Robinson was in charge of player development and high school recruiting.
Robinson’s first high school job was in 2009 as the varsity assistant at Byron Nelson High School in Northwest Independent School District. While at Byron Nelson, Robinson helped build a 50-7 home record over the first four varsity seasons and win over a hundred games. He helped lead the Bobcats to a regional finals appearance in 2012, two district championships and four playoff appearances.
After his five year stint at Byron Nelson High School, Robinson accepted his first head coaching position at Benbrook High School in Fort Worth ISD. He again had the opportunity to build a program from the ground up. Robinson’s team made the first playoff appearance in the school’s history and he was able to build a culture of winning that is continuing.
Robinson most recently served as the head boys basketball coach at Aledo High School for the previous five years. Robinson rebuilt the program and led the Bearcats to the state playoffs in four out of the five years. In 2024, the Bearcats made boys basketball history at Aledo High School by winning the second ever playoff game, the first was won in 2002. Robinson was instrumental in building and developing a new youth movement for basketball in Aledo that will vastly improve the culture for many years to come.
He and his wife, Aimee, have a daughter, Kinlee (10), and two sons, Rhett (6) and River (2).
